Due to the success and growth of the company we are seeking an ambitious Lead Geotechnical Engineer to join us to further develop the company based out of our Boston office.


Areas of responsibility: As a Lead Geotechnical Engineer your main objective will be to provide high-quality geotechnical support to our clients in the offshore wind industry. You will be providing support to a number of projects across our portfolio of work as well as taking responsibility for your own packages of work. 

 

You will be given close support and guidance from our senior members of staff whilst maintaining control and drive of your own career.  

 

Typical areas of work are likely to include: 

  • Designing and managing offshore geotechnical site investigation campaigns 
  • Specifying and processing laboratory test results 
  • Preparing geotechnical interpretive reports and geotechnical design profiles 
  • Supporting the development of 3D ground models 
  • Performing seabed mobility and cable burial assessments 
  • Acting as a client representative during offshore geotechnical site investigation campaigns 
  • Engaging and leading in R&D activities 
  • Developing in-house engineering software. 

 

This opening is available for our Boston office. based on local terms and conditions. There may be some travelling in Northern Europe, North America or Asia in relation to your work. Opportunities for short or long-term postings abroad may be a possibility. 


Your background: You should hold a master's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or equivalent and hold a professional qualification e.g PE or CEng. You should thrive in an international environment and speak and write English fluently. You have a strong drive and take initiative and responsibility for your assignments and you get motivated by creating excellent results through teamwork. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you: 

 

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with clients and other consultants effectively. 
  • Are highly numerate and have experience of developing / writing your own software using programs such as Matlab 
  • Have knowledge/experience with advanced geotechnical laboratory testing and interpretation 
  • Have knowledge/experience with geotechnical engineering related to offshore wind farms.
