Position Summary
Work with all functional areas to drive the business. Understand the plant metrics, the business plan to meet all areas within the metrics and how and when to react to correct or improve performance in the plant.
Job Responsibility
- Lean Leader for the facility
- This position is responsible for the profitable management of multiple customers in a JIT manner maintaining world class quality and customers relationships in a safe manner
- Lead and direct a workforce of hourly and salaried employees through a management team and manage the supply base while minimizing inventory
- Work with customer/partner in developing manufacturing strategy, planning, cost reductions, and business planning
- Employ best methods, VIEW, VAVE, TQM, and other management strategies to achieve goals and continuously improve systems, processes and develop staff
- Implement and maintain continuous improvement process
- Collaborate with accounting for financial analysis, budgeting & forecasting for the plant
- Play an essential role in the health & safety and quality audit process
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Commerce
- Eight to ten years progressive related experience at a senior management level or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience to perform the requirements of the position
- Strongly demonstrated general management skills including team building, JIT process-based manufacturing, automotive industry experience, cost management, material/logistics, forecasting and planning, problem solving, conflict resolution, quality management, strong customer relationship background and attitude
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Knowledge of applicable legislation including Health and Safety & Environment and Employment, Industrial Relations, accounting principles and supply contract administration
- In depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Kaizen
