Role Purpose:
Manage and supervise and schedule day-to-day activities in the lab and staff. Responsible for completing key development projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage testing facility including workflow management
- Must adhere to budget requirements
- Manage equipment preventative maintenance implementation and scheduling.
- Manage calibration schedule, implementation, costs, suppliers
- Assist with testing bottlenecks as needed
- Manage comfort lab validation activities inclusive of customer interface (internal & external), testing schedule
- Review and approve test reports, drive for improvement in content
- Develop/improve lab procedures/processes
- Supervise lab technicians, develop their skill sets and goals
- Collaborate with IT to facilitate digital scheduling and report database
- Assist in benchmarking activities as needed
- Some travel required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical University Degree or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding how to read a Bill of Materials (BOM) and DVP&R
- Good understanding of urethane, process, manufacturing systems and properties is a plus
- Three to five years’ experience in a supervisory/managerial level
- Strong managerial skills (team building, motivation, problem resolution, and organization)
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong technical aptitude
- Ability to multitask in a high-pressure situation
- Working knowledge of standard computer software packages
