Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: Corporate Satellite Office – Meridian, Idaho
Starting Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 (depending on experience)

Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist performs administrative and project related tasks to support the processing, compliance, and ad hoc requirements that come to the payroll department. A primary responsibility of this role is to provide necessary data and information on behalf of the payroll department to support external agencies and other Woodgrain departments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Assist with analyzing and responding to requests for information on behalf of the payroll department (i.e., requests from tax, accounting, AP, benefits, etc.)
* Prepare accurate and timely reports and documentation to support internal department projects and assist other departments with completion of tasks.
* Prepare and maintain a variety of local, state, and federal forms to assist both in audit process and regular filings.
* Participate in the development and implementation of the payroll policies and procedures, with specification in the systems application area.
* Coordinate and interact with federal and state agencies on issues pertaining to employee compensation and deductions.
* Identify training issues and problem prone processes to ensure optimal efficiency and error-free operations.
* Coordinate with HR and payroll to identify system problems, perform necessary tests to resolve these issues and coordinate with HRIS team on new system implementation needs.
* Develop user information materials and provide training to new system users for best practice.
* Prepare analytics and data as necessary.
* Communicate regularly with the HRIS Support Team and HRIS Analysts regarding system enhancements and projects.
* Assist with the processing of payroll as necessary to support the Payroll Administrators.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field required; equivalent work experience may be considered
* At least 7 years of experience processing payroll, which includes 2 years of clerical accounting/tax experience.
* Extensive understanding of payroll policies and procedures to include terminology

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel: This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.
