Yard Lift Operator receives incoming green lumber and helps transport green lumber through the drying process and into the manufacturing operations.

Safety
The employee must follow all Company safety rules and processes, and use proper ergonomics. Always wears the proper PPE, clothing and footwear. Adheres at all times to the Entanglement policy. The employee must always be aware of their work environment, equipment and the potential hazards. Owns daily cleanliness of work area. Maintains area orderly, clean and free from hazards. It is the responsibility of the employee to work within their physical limitations and not cause unnecessary injury to their self or others.

Attendance
The employee is expected to be at their workstation/area at the start of the assigned shift. On time, regular and consistent attendance is a requirement of the job.

Essential functions of the job:
CORE: All Levels
- Must be willing to fill in with other Lumber Yard positions as needed
- Heavy equipment experience: Diesel Fork Lift, Farm Tractor, etc.
- Advanced knowledge and abilities Standard Forklift (Material Handler 2)
Dry Kilns Driver:
- Loads and unloads dry kilns according to schedule
- Loads dry lumber onto Planer Deck
- Complete Pre-Shift Safety Checklist
- Maintains a Kiln report of how many packs of each length and footage in each row in the dry kiln
- Assist Lumber Yard Tech with machine repairs to reduce downtime
- Assist unloading trucks during downtime
- Scan tags with scan gun while loading and unloading kilns
- Daily housekeeping of Dry Kiln area
Lumber Yard Driver:
- Unloads trucks
- Measures incoming lumber
- Separate lumber on the yard by lengths
- Complete Pre-Shift Safety Checklist
- Load/unload the lumber stacker
- Place 4x4’s on top of lumber in order to separate packs
- Use scan gun
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma/GED
- Prior experience in heavy equipment operation, farm tractor operation, or 30k lbs. Diesel Forklift experience
- Prefer SAP Software
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work well with others in a close environment
- Must have basic computer and math skills
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to:
- Moving mechanical parts, machines, and vehicles.
- The Lumber Yard environment is small and the employee must be able to work in close proximity with other co-workers.
- The manufacturing environment noise level is generally loud and must wear proper PPE.
- Employees are regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and grip, feel and reach with hands and arms, stoop, twist, and bend 20% of their work schedule.
- The employee is required to sit 80% of the scheduled shift while performing the Yard Lift Operator position.
- The employee is frequently required to communicate written, verbal, and hear clearly.
The employee must be able to lift 50lbs frequently at ground to shoulder level during their daily work schedule.
