Responsibilities:
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents
- Maintain and organize legal files and documents
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and other attorney obligations
- Assist with client intake and interview clients to gather necessary information
- Prepare and file legal documents with courts and other agencies
- Answer phones, communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
- Process mail and court pleadings and ensure outgoing filings and mail are delivered promptly
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
- Personable and friendly in dealing with clients, opposing counsel and court personnel
- Ability to interview clients effectively to gather necessary information
- Strong organizational skills to maintain and organize legal files and documents
- Attention to detail for preparing accurate legal documents and correspondence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client communication
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of litigation processes and procedures
