WOODLAND POND CONFORMANCE STATEMENT
In the performance of their respective duties and responsibilities, all employees are expected to conform to the following:

- Completing tasks independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
- Complying with all federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations as well as Woodland Pond policy and procedure at all times
Position Summary
The Driver is responsible for transporting residents of Woodland Pond to medical appointments, errands, special outings, and other destinations as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*CF indicates Critical Function)
- Receives daily schedule from the Concierge; communicates with the Concierge throughout the day regarding pick up/drop off times (*CF)
- Is responsible for taking a roll call each time residents board the bus (*CF)
- Assists residents with packages and WP grocery carts as needed
- Provides supervision as residents enter and exit the bus (*CF)
- Operates wheelchair lift to assist residents on/off the bus (*CF)
- Uses hands free devices if using the phone while driving
- Cleans the inside and outside of the bus as needed and as requested by supervisor
- Removes all trash from the inside of the bus and sweeps the inside of the bus as needed
- Alerts supervisor when oil change, inspection, registration, or other required maintenance is needed
- Contacts supervisor immediately if an accident involving the bus occurs
- Reports resident illness or behavior changes to supervisor
- Departs Woodland Pond in a timely manner; if a resident does not board on time the rest of the group should not have to wait
- Meets with supervisor and other drivers once a month to discuss following month’s schedule
- Follows all traffic laws including posted speed limits and utilizing safety belts
- Completes idle time tasks as assigned
- Completing all required training and in-services
- All other duties as assigned

- Maintains predictable and reliable attendance, wearing the appropriate uniform as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma, or HSE with two years of similar experience
- Valid NYS Class D Driver’s License, with a clean driving record and proof of valid personal liability auto insurance required
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to function within a Windows based computer program
- Ability to multitask
- Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating by telephone and in person with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population

Disruption to Routine
Must adapt to frequent schedule changes, department workload, and resident needs. Possible overtime
Safety Hazards in Job
Possible vehicle accidents. Stress due to the need to meet multiple, varying needs for residents, staff and visitors. Potential conflicts with unauthorized persons
