Job Summary: The primary focal point for district staff contacting the Information Services department, the Level I Tech Support Specialist is responsible for providing assistance with various kinds of technology and its use. The work assists toward the accomplishment of the mission of the Woodland Public Schools of preparing students for career, life, and college so that they can become a responsible and successful citizen. Work is performed under the direction of the Technology Manager.
Qualifications:-
Associate's degree or higher in computer science or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Ability to understand technical instructions.

Ability to climb ladders, carry equipment, get up and down from the floor to access under and around furniture/move furniture as needed.

Work independently, or as a support in a team, and being able to follow instructions closely.

Work in an orderly and detail oriented manner to ensure work is tidy and all equipment is functioning correctly.

Can be cleared to drive a district vehicle.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Ability to communicate in person and on the telephone with the general public in a professional manner.

Setup and configure various desktop, laptop and mobile systems using preconfigured management solutions.

Add and remove equipment from various locations around the district as needed.

Maintain fixed assets systems for tracking resources, maintaining license compliance and ensuring accurate data in connected IT systems.

Utilize the helpdesk system for the purpose of keeping track of tasks, providing documentation of activities, and providing feedback to requestors.

Maintain strict confidentiality for the purpose of ensuring district network security (e.g. passwords and other system security features).

Provide direct support in classrooms and administrative offices for district staff utilizing new or unfamiliar technologies.

Respond to helpdesk and telephone queries in a timely manner, escalating issues within the department as needed.

Utilize the various systems that support network user accounts and add/edit/remove accounts as needed.

Assist other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
