Woodland Public Schools - Summer Technology Assistant

Position Title: Summer Technology AssistantPosting: 3357
Location: District-wide
Days/Hrs: 5 days per week (excluding holidays), 8 hours per day
Start Date: 06/20/2024
Base Rate: 85% of Tech I Rate, Link to Schedule
Benefits: Position is not eligible for health or retirement benefits.
Job Summary: Assist district technology staff during the summer. The work assists toward the accomplishment of the mission of the Woodland Public Schools of preparing students for career, life, and college so that they can become a responsible and successful citizen. Work is performed under the direction of the Technology Manager.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with technology hardware
- Ability to understand technical instructions
- Ability to climb ladders, carry equipment, get up and down from the floor to access under and around furniture/move furniture as needed
- Work independently, or as a support in a team, and being able to follow instructions closely
- Work in an orderly and detail oriented manner to ensure work is tidy and all equipment is functioning correctly
- Can be cleared to drive a district vehicle
- Regular and punctual attendance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Install technology hardware (computers, monitors, printers, phones, etc.) as directed
- Redistribute technology in the current buildings as directed, re-cabling, as needed to ensure things are working in their new locations
- Re-imaging or renaming computers, using supplied standard procedures
- The reconfiguring, cleaning, and tidying of existing equipment as needed
- Occasionally moving furniture to accommodate technology placement needs
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly push or lift up to 50 lbs. The employee will be required to climb ladders, get up and down from the floor to access under and around furniture, and move furniture as required. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
