Job Summary
The Registered Nurse should be able to distinguish or identify, through the analysis of nursing assessment data, those signs, symptoms and processes which denote each individual child/adolescent/young adult/adult/senior’s interaction with any health problem or potential health problem.
- Assists LIP with procedures including: preforms EKG, removes sutures, cleans wounds, applies dressings, obtains various specimens, administers vaccinations and medications accurately and safely.
- Provides direct care to residents, employees and outpatients.
- Provides clinical assessment of individuals as necessary.
- Assists providers with treatment and evaluation as necessary.
- Assists providers with exams/assessments of the residents and or outpatient as necessary.
- Administers immunizations, treatments, and screenings as ordered by the providers.
- Coordinates organize, schedule and oversee all influenza and Covid vaccines along with all required state vaccines.
- Provides supplemental assessment and triage of residential clients and outpatients for The Medical Center.
- Differentiates between the need for emergency care and the need for physician/provider follow-up appointments in conjunction with the medical schedulers, or The Medical Center at Woods staff.
- Administer emergency care and first aid when necessary at The Medical Center.
- Assists the providers at The Medical Center transfers of clients to emergency room for evaluation/hospitalization.
- Works with Lab technician and Radiology tech to coordinate routine and urgent tests as necessary.
- Reviews and follows up on Campus Report addressing medical concerns and communicating necessary information to providers at The Medical Center and making appointments as necessary.
- Acts as a liaison between The Medical Center providers and campus nurse.
- Provides input into policies and procedures.
- Has knowledge of and demonstrates computer proficiency and use of EMR.
- Maintains effective communication and working relationships with Woods’ administration and subordinates.
- Collaborates with Woods Nursing to develop protocols and work flows for patient care.
- Reviews all new admissions vaccines and labs, coordinates and schedules services as needed.
- Maintains professional conduct during interactions with all Woods’ employees, residents, families and outpatients.
- A demonstrated ability to appropriately acknowledge and respond to the multiple needs of the population served is required; effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Maintains courteous interaction and excellent communication skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education.
- Maintain 40 hours of in-service per year. Maintain PA requirement of 30 hours of CEU’s as licensure dictates. Obtain CPR (BLS) certification every two years.
- Procure supplies as needed through appropriate channels.
- Assists with evacuations of The Medical Center during emergencies as necessary.
- Assists with staffing needs in absence of clinical personnel.
- Serves on committees as requested. Provides input into policies and procedures affecting The Medical Center at Woods.
- Provides training to other staff as necessary.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with clinical experience.
- Current licensure as RN Pennsylvania.
- Five years’ experience in coordinating nursing services
- Five years of direct nursing care
- Current CPR and AED
- Current Driver’s License
- Must be able to lift 50 pound.
