The BMX Race Coach/Zone Coach/Counselor position is an integral part of the camper's experience, providing a dynamic platform that is unmatched. You will execute and support all aspects of the program, including overall curriculum and appropriate use of facilities. The goal is to ensure a high level of training and progression, making sure campers are engaged and participating in a responsible manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overall
- Work in a maximum of 15 sessions throughout the week, including mandatory instruction, zone coaching, overnight counseling and recreation activities as assigned
- Attend 2 staff training clinics per week, in addition to facility and equipment training
- Assist with sport events, clinics and programs as assigned
- Execute routine daily maintenance and cleaning for all facilities
- Coaching
- Responsible for leading a group of 7-10 campers through a daily instruction session
- Evaluate camper skill levels based on criteria and discuss progression comparisons, providing feedback to campers for ongoing skill development
- Conduct daily reporting and recording of incidents, accidents or rule violations to direct supervisor(s)
- Zone Coaching
- Ensure campers are acting responsibly and respectfully.
- Engaged, creating games and developing challenges for the campers.
- Sweeping, picking up trash, putting disregarded belongings into the Lost and Found
- Inspecting all areas each shift for any ramps or obstacles that need repair
- Communicate with medical team effectively in event of an injury
- Counseling
- Assist campers in daily routine including chores and overall cabin/surrounding area cleanliness
- Counseling to include taking attendance with required night supervisor sign-off and enforcement of lights out
- Helping to ensure that the cabin is a safe and healthy environment for every camper
- Other duties as assigned.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Experience
- Must have 1 years of experience working with kids and/or teens.
- Experience working in a camp environment is preferred.
- High school degree or equivalent preferred
- Experience in action sports coaching preferred
- Must hold a USABMX Coaching Certification/License
- Health and Safety Certifications
- Strong interpersonal skills. Able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Has the ability to implement ideas.
BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS:
- As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening.
- Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.
- Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.
- Camp Attendance Requirements:
- Summer Camp Season (July 9th - August 26th)
- Weeks 6 thru 12
- Preferred minimum 2 -week commitment within Summer camp season.

- Lodging & Food (3 daily meals and staff housing will be provied during employment)
