Job Summary:
The Driver is responsible for transporting individuals with disabilities.
Essential Functions;
Responsible for:
- Responsible for picking up and discharging passengers.
- Responsible for transporting people to and from residences in assigned vehicle.
- Responsible for physically assisting people in entering and leaving the vehicle.
- Responsible for operating the vehicle safely. The operation of vehicles must comply with all state and local laws.
- Responsible for being courteous to passengers, family and program staff.
- Responsible for the immediate reporting of any disciplinary problem of any consumer to the Transportation Manager or his/her assistant.
- Responsible for the immediate notification to the Transportation Manager whenever a driver transports a person to a residence that shows no evidence of a parent, guardian or other supervisory person present.
- Responsible for daily cleaning interior of vehicle.
- Responsible for reporting missing vehicle equipment to Transportation Manager.
- Responsible for maintaining a driver’s log sheet.
- Responsible for immediate notification to Manager of any accident or other damage to vehicle, any vehicle safety problems.
- Responsible for proper use of communication equipment.
- Responsible for proper care and use of vehicles.
- Responsible for other duties assigned by Transportation Manager.

Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts Drivers License and a safe driving record.
- Ability to obtain a 7D License.
- Ability to communicate with program participants, family, site staff and management.
- Ability to safely drive van/bus.
- Ability to physically assist program participants into/out of a vehicl
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Communication Demands:
- The ability to respond to common inquiries of complaints.

The work is performed in a non-smoking environment. The work is normally performed in a temperature controlled zone, however, there are exceptions.
