1st shift - Supervisor - $33 /hr - Grand Rapids, MI

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Verify all products meet customer quality criteria before it is packed.
  • Check product MO paperwork to identify any packing standards or quality alerts for those item numbers.
  • Identify how many operators will be needed to pack each job. If you need more operators, communicate with the Lead Hanger and/or Team Leader for the additional labor. If you have excess labor, move operators to the hanging team or value-added area.
  • Verify product is properly packed with no metal-to-metal contact, and securely wrapped to the skid.
  • Verify all product is packed back on the same skid/box it arrived on. utilize our alphabet letter papers and line placards to make sure this happens.
  • Scan all completed MO’s to the PL Outbound Loading Dock status.
  • Train Packing team to all aspects of the packing process.
  • Work with Team Leader to document all training to our Production Line Training matrix sheet.
  • Verify each skid has the correct MO attached to the finished skid/box.
  • Verify any non-conforming material is properly documented, labeled, and stored in the correct area.
  • Assist Team leader and management team in creating Packing instructions.
  • This will be a physically demanding position. Candidates must be able to lift 50-60 lbs with a team lift and sometimes use of a forklift.
Preferred Skills:
  • Verify all products are hung double or as dense as possible.
  • Check Product MO paperwork to identify any hanging standards or quality alerts for those item numbers.
  • Verify a skid placard is hung with each job, and the same letter paper is put with the appropriate skid.
  • Scan all MO’s to PL Parts Hung once the job is hung.
  • Work with Team Leader to document all training to our production line training matrix sheet.
  • Assist Team Leader and management team in creating hanging instructions.
  • Train hanging team to all aspects of the hanging process.
The ideal candidate for this position will enjoy working in a fast paced environment. Our client is looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of manufacturing experience. This will be a very physically demanding position!
