We are looking for a Full-Time Occupational Health nurse to help support our client site in East Hartford, CT, and Middletown, CT.
This position is responsible for performing regulatory testing, injury/illness care, worker’s comp, wellness education for employees within the nursing scope of practice, the structure of the Client Standards, policies, procedures, and treatment care guidelines.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with occasional working hours from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Provides medical care to clinic patients as requested/needed, and within the RN scope of practice, following treatment care guidelines set forth by the occupational health director. Employee encounters, wellness checks, obesity weigh-ins, blood pressure checks, etc.)
- Assist providers with Injury & Illness management
- Assist providers in managing, coordinating, and documentation Workers Comp claims & communicate with Client’s WC claims carrier as needed
- Maintain Electronic Medical Records (EMR- Cority) and ensures complete & accurate documentation
- Performs regulatory testing including but not limited to: Respiratory medical evaluation, spirometry, audiometry, vision tests, urine test, EKG, immunizations, blood draws, stress tests, MicroFit, heat stress
- May perform First Aid, CPR, AED, and other training as necessary
- Provides preventive health education to employees as needed within the scope of practice
- Maintains clinic utilization reports
- Participates in the general flow of clinic operations (answers phones, checks email, medical records, scheduling, filing, copying charts, traffic control)
- Maintain clinic’s medical & office supplies in collaboration with ancillary staff
- Maintains communication with the Clinic Medical Director, Account manager, Team Lead & client as necessary
- Ensures that employees have appropriate return-to-work clearances
- Coordinates employee exams &medical surveillance
- Other duties as assigned or those duties that may be required as management deems necessary
Education and Experience:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid Connecticut RN license
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred
- Must hold current BLS certification
- 3–5 years of RN experience required
- 2-3 years experience in an urgent care, emergency department or occupational health setting preferred
- Certification in Occupational Health preferred

Physicals Demands:
- Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
- Some bending and stretching could be required.
- Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
- Manual dexterity is required for the use of a computer keyboard.
- Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
- Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.
Salary : $70,900 - $89,700
