We're looking for a Designer to work within the Graphics & Design department and collaborate with internal and external clients to develop highly graphical supplemental print products for the K-12 market. The primary task will be to design appealing and engaging children's books, from conception to production, for domestic and international customers. Products should appeal to the school, library, and consumer markets. In addition, design and create related marketing materials and other printed collateral.

Does this sound like you?

A Successful Candidate Will Have the Following:

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design; or the equivalent in work experience.
• One to three years of experience in book, magazine, or similar design work.
• Expert proficiency in macOS and graphics software, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Proficiency in video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, is a plus.
• Familiarity with Digital Asset Management systems.
• Strong aesthetic judgment with a thorough understanding of layouts, design fundamentals, branding, and conceptualization.

Here’s a look at the essential duties of this role:

• Coordinate with internal and external clients, determine visual needs, and create prototype designs for new supplemental print products.
• Implement designs in full production, adapting to clients’ needs.
• Adhere to strict editorial/production schedules.
• Create marketing materials and other related collateral as needed, enforcing branding and style standards.
• Stay current with design trends, standards, new design software technologies, etc.
