This position will help fulfill World Relief’s mission to “empower the local church to stand with the most vulnerable” through building a strong volunteer program by providing leadership for volunteer integration, oversee our internship program, develop and maintain volunteer management systems throughout the office, and provide support and coaching to all volunteer coordinators.
Compensation: $45,000
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Volunteer & Intern Duties
- Oversee and implement the volunteer and intern recruitment, engagement, and allocation processes
- Ensure the provision of orientation and training to all incoming volunteers and interns
- Regularly assess volunteer and intern training needs to ensure continuity in training and develop new training approaches to meet said needs
- Hold interns and intern supervisors accountable to internship program expectations and processes
- Ensure appropriate and timely communication between volunteers and World Relief in order to address volunteer concerns, questions or needs and relay to appropriate staff
- Ensure that each volunteer is connected with a broader community of volunteers, either through church-based teams or through periodic gatherings with other volunteers
- Ensure volunteer systems and communication platforms are working and being utilized properly
- Obtain regular, direct feedback from volunteers about their experiences
Program Duties
- Select, Train and Supervise Volunteer Program Staff
- Lead Volunteer Program Staff to establish and fulfill shared expectations for follow-up and communication with volunteers
- Lead in strategic planning and reporting annual GIK goals and donations
- Alongside the Mission Services Director, develop an office-wide volunteer philosophy and volunteer recruitment strategy
- Coordinate with management team to create and implement trainings and benchmarks to achieve volunteer integration within each program
- Manage Mission Services Department metrics by developing and maintaining program evaluation methods, including regular monitoring of department data and tracking, to evaluate program effectiveness and growth opportunities
- Ensure the organization is setting and meeting quarterly volunteer recruitment and placement goals, and assist in developing new volunteer roles as needed
- Provide coaching and accountability to volunteer coordinators and other employees who interact with volunteers and interns, focused on volunteer role development, recruitment, interviewing, placement, retention, encouragement, and recognition
- Participate in national volunteer staff working groups on a periodic basis
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Committed to the Mission, Vision and Values of World Relief
- Minimum one year experience in volunteer coordination
- Fluent in Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook and Access
- Experience in resource management preferred
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize in a fast paced and fluid environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of web and social media development
- Valid Driver’s license and regular access to personal vehicle

- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Experience working with immigrant communities and or other under-represented communities.
- Cross-cultural experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- 1 years of management experience
- Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s degree required
