Worldstrides is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in the Charlottesville office. This position will be responsible for managing our local and wide area networks to ensure optimal uptime for the organization. These responsibilities include supporting existing infrastructure and learning new technologies to optimize network services and communication systems. The network engineer will be tasked with maintaining and developing physical and logical network topology drawings, network hardware configuration tasks, troubleshooting, and overall support of our global environment.
Job Responsibilities include:
. Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current environment
. Maintaining and creating technical network topology documentation
. Procuring network equipment and leading network installation for local and remote offices
. Installing and configuring network hardware including routers, switches and firewalls
. Knowledge of WAN protocols including DMVPN
. Configuration and support of routing protocols namely BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and OMP
. Knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN technology
. Configuring firewalls to maximise network efficiency and security
. Enhance network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
. Performing scheduled upgrades network devices
. Investigating faults in the network and providing timely resolution
. Reporting network status to key stakeholders
. Participate and review changes using established change management processes
. Work under the direction of the network architect to maximise network efficiency and uptime
