The Role
The Training Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all craft, supervisory, professional, technical, and managerial training that occurs on the assigned project. This includes promoting and scheduling NCCER training sessions; identifying and recruiting qualified instructors; identifying and requisitioning training materials and equipment; collection and submittal of training data to the Training Manager; and administration of training records and reports. The Training Coordinator will attend all required staff meetings; and will provide support to the Training Manager. This position will support approximately 250 employees at multiple sites in Pasadena, Channelview, La Porte for a single client.
Responsibilities
- Management and facilitation of the learning resources
- Maintain a high level of fiduciary responsibility related to training budgets
- Communicate with all levels of project staff as well as corporate representatives
- Document control and reporting related to training and certification activities
- Maintain integrity of all training programs NCCER, Worley-specific, and client specifications
- Observe work habits and relations of project to help identify and certify instructors for various programs
- Mentor and encourage craft professionals to enroll and participate in training/assessment programs
- Flexibility with the ability to multi-task allowing to adjust to accommodate any job-site changes
- Attend staff meetings to determine the needs of the project
Skills
- Candidate ideally has proven experience, preferably with exposure to Learning and Development of Construction/Maintenance Personnel.
- Applicants should have excellent oral and written communication skills; and should be organized, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Applicants must be willing to travel to assigned projects.
Technology / Software
- Strong understanding of Workforce Development systems, processes and tools. Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (preferred).
Education / Experience
- Knowledge of NCCER policies and procedures will be given special consideration.
- It is recommended that the applicant have a two-year college degree or equivalent documented work experience as a Project Training Coordinator.
