Walter P. Rawl & Sons, Inc. is looking to hire an experienced Business Analyst in the Produce/Farming who will be responsible for working with company data in various business areas. The ideal candidate is passionate, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. This position will help monitor the overall key metrics of the department impacting P&L including, but not limited to sales by customer, sales by item, projections, profits by customer and item, and losses by customer and item. Support the department management team with ongoing analysis of the department’s performance. Experience in the produce industry is a plus!
This position is NOT a remote position.
Responsibilities
· Operate as the primary point of contact with the sales team and accounting department to track and report data.
· Work with the sales team to develop sales tracking tools, forecast future business, and customer growth
· Work with the accounting department and sales team to monitor and update pricing models to improve profitability of products
· Addressing and resolving customer pricing issues
· Communicating and collaborating with all departments to ensure that customer forecasted needs are met
· Compiling reports on department progress, goals, and forecasts for accounting team and stakeholders
· Developing a thorough understanding of the customer’s needs and requirements and preparing customized solutions with the sales team
· Assist in the publication of department revenue reports to assist the managers in generating income. This is mostly focused on managing the rolling 52 week forecast project and the 52 week “loss” tracking described below.
· Maintain a 52-week trailing forecast for sales. To include sales by customer, sales by item, built in a rolling 52 week format. Working with field ops and production to communicate the volume needs as this will require conversions of cases to packages and to acres planted.
· Maintain a 52-week tracking of all “losses” by customer. To include missed sales due to adjustments, rejections and all associated costs, shortages and all costs associated with replacement. This will be a total picture of what every missed sale cost the company.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business, business administration, finance, accounting, sales, or a related field.
Need to be familiar with cost accounting
· Fluency in Microsoft Office – Strong background and skills in Excel
· The ability to build rapport with multiple teams
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong negotiation and leadership skills
