The GroupM IT team in WPP IT are the technology solutions partner for the GroupM group of agencies and are accountable for co-ordinating and assuring end-to-end change delivery, managing the GroupM IT technology life-cycle and innovation pipeline.

What you'll be doing:
As a member of the WPP, IT - GroupM IT team:
- Design, build, and test end to end data pipeline including data ingestion (streaming, events, and batch), data integration, data curation.
- Build and oversee data architecture & pipelines platforms and systems, managing the flow of data from internal and external sources by leveraging both distributed and local structures.
- Support data platform on the cloud.
- Build and support reusable framework to ingest, integration and provision data.
- Work with disaster recovery planning and execution with other team members.
- Participate in developing, designing, configuring, and documenting database architecture.
- Assist the data analytics team with analyzing and improving data models and answering data questions
- Develop and maintenance of data scrambling procedure for lower environments
- Assist developers and end users in implementing best practices for database architect
- Perform best practice database troubleshooting; fix data corruption; and/or perform daily database administrator (DBA) tasks during Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including review logs, and establishing as well as responding to automated monitoring
- Continuous security and maintenance of all SQL instances
- Validation of our entire SQL environments with constructive recommendations for improvement (task automation, etc.).
- Assist in assessing product quality and release readiness
** Working hours: 1:30pm - 9:30pm (IST) - Aligned to UK business hours
What you'll need:
- Education: completed university studies in Computer Science, Information Technology or comparable
- Personality and Working Practice: team player, good communication skills, analytical thinking and structured
- Experience and Knowledge: 4 years of recent experience in the following areas:

- Experience with Azure Data Engineering services are mandatory, including Azure Data Lake Data Bricks and Datawarehouse
- Data analysis, data modeling, and data integration using Azure technologies like Azure Data Factory (ADF) is required
- Big Data Architecture Concepts (HDFS, Hive)
- Standard ETL tools and developing and maintaining ETL processes
- Coordinate with Data Warehouse Architects and DevOps Engineers to implement and enhance data pipeline orchestration using Azure DevOps
- Using SQL Profiler traces and other tools to find the most frequently run queries and debugging skills
- Expert-level knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database maintenance operations
- Expert in Performance tuning and query optimization using DMVs, Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler, and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Proficiency authoring and analyzing T-SQL code and schema (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints)
- Experience in troubleshooting, configuration management and experience with High Availability (HA)
- Experience in Managing SQL database Cluster, replication & Mirroring
- Ability to write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data migration scripts.
- Agile software development and technology best practice methodologies
- Data Governance processes
- Comfort with industry standard version control tooling
- Media / advertising industry experience is a plus
- Qualifications: certifications or equivalent skills of AZ-204, AI-900, DP-100, DA-100 and/or DP-203 are beneficial
- Languages: very good English skills - other languages are a plus
