HOME HEALTH AIDE/ PERSONAL CARE & CNA ATTENDANT JOB DESCRIPTION
- PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Home Health Aide/Personal Care & CNA ATTENDANT are provided to assist the Enrollee with activities of daily living related essential household tasks, and other activities that enable the enrollee to remain in the home as an alternative to Nursing Facility care. HHA/PCA & CNA provides education about the preparation of nutritious appetizing meals also interpersonal and social skills building to enable the enrollee to live in a community setting. The services provided are essential in providing a safe environment to ensure the enrollee’s health and welfare needs are met.

- RESPONSIBILITES:
Provides the following care:
- Mouth and denture care
- Shaving
- Finger and toe nail care (no cutting)
- Grooming hair-shampooing, combing, oiling, etc.
- Bathing or bed bath-shower or tub (partial or complete)
- Helps with Dressing
- Helps with toileting-bed pan, commode/chair, or urinal (emptying and cleaning)
- Reminds client to take medication ( no administering medication)
- Helps with eating
- Attending appointments
- Assist with transfers and repositioning of enrollee
- Assist with ambulation
- Cleans the kitchen, washing dishes, cleaning stove and other appliances as needed.
- Ensures that all areas used by the enrollee are clean and in order.
- Prepares shopping list
- Runs errands and serves meals.
- Laundry, light ironing, and storage of clothing
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, as needed
- Make/change bed linen
- Perform all other duties assigned
- QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a high school graduate, have a GED, or must demonstrate the ability to read the written HHA/PCA & CNA assignments and write adequately to complete required form and reports of visits.
- Be able to function independently without constant observation and supervision.
- Have an interest in, and empathy for, people who are ill, elderly, or disabled.
- Be emotionally mature and able to respond to clients and situations in a responsible manner;
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively, assertively, and cooperatively with a variety of people;
- Must have reliable transportation means to enrollee homes
- Must pass background checks (Criminal History, Sex Offender, Registry, Abuse Registry, and TBI Registry).
- Completes and submits monthly review sheet in a timely manner
- Participates in use of daily phone log monitoring system of enrollee services
- Attends regularly offered in-services and demonstrated learned competencies
- Understand and adheres to policies and procedures
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
