Location: Norfolk, VA
SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Project Manager to be responsible for initiation/planning, execution/implementation, monitoring/control, and closeout/assessment elements and activities associated with various assigned projects, utilizing the WR Quality Management System along with industry standards.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Identify project requirements and risk plans under minimal supervision of Program Manager or more senior Project Manager.
- Develop cost estimates and prepares quotes and/or proposals in response to RFQ and/or RFPs.
- Monitors and controls project schedule, cost, quality, and risk.
- Assist senior and executive management in the development of long- and short-range project objectives.
- Assist junior Project Managers.
- Aid the negotiation of delivery orders and contractual changes.
- Recommend changes to improve productivity and reduce cost.
- Assist with related proposal data calls.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors.
- Supervise project staff.
- Interview and hire staff to execute project requirements. Prepares routine reports for customers regarding project status.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related technical field preferred; PMP or related management certification a plus.
- Two(2) - Ten (10) years managing projects at various levels of complexity.
- Competency in MS Office Suite, to include, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Knowledge of CMMI or ISO 9001 preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Project or other Integrated Scheduling tool.
- Knowledge of and experience in a performance-based employee evaluation system or practice and associated documentation requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to communicate effectively across various levels of professional and technical disciplines.
