POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility for this job is operating and maintaining heavy equipment, including but not limited to bobcats, tractors, front end loaders, backhoes, and forklifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operating and maintaining heavy equipment, including but not limited to bobcats, tractors, front end loaders, backhoes, and forklift.
- Transport various cargoes within the warehouse, to ship/barge holds, deck, dock, and stock yard area.
- Act as a signalman for other equipment operators and crane operators.
- Perform all required deckhand duties.
- Demonstrate and maintain behaviors that proactively support safe work practices while recognizing and communicating conditions of potential risk.
- Support company safety initiatives including maintaining and wearing required PPE.
- Participate in all company Safety Programs as scheduled.
- Perform routine shift inspection of equipment and report potential issues including parts that may be broken.
- Responsible for the safe operation of all equipment.
- Report damage immediately to the assigned production manager.
- Ensures the maintenance of equipment, including performing pre-job inspections (and reporting) and periodic maintenance.
- Demonstration of knowledge of all required competencies
- Responsible for housekeeping of Terminal. Cleanliness is a priority for all jobs.
- Communicate professionally with team members, vessel personnel etc.
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to safely operate assigned equipment.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment within a confined space.
- Thorough knowledge of rig operation and maintenance programs.
- Thorough knowledge of personal safety programs.
- Proficiency in equipment and deck operations.
- Physical fitness to perform all essential physical demands of this job safely.
- Demonstrated safe work practices, history, and leadership ability.
- Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Must comply with all operational directives and company policies.
- Valid Driver's License and TWIC Card
- Preferred 2 years of verified experience.
- Drug screen required.
- Background check required.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- High School education or equivalent required. Will consider years of verified experience.
