Wright State Physicians Family Medicine seeks to hire an Associate Medical Director to provide coordination and oversight of the quality patient care provided in our Family Health Center. The preferred candidate will have experience as a family physician in a primary care ambulatory setting, working with both a managed care and Medicare population, and experience leadership and/or administrative roles. Experience with Patient-Centered Medical Home, Quality Improvement and team-based care strongly preferred.

Essential job responsibilities:
•    Participate in the strategic planning process for the practice.
•    Monitor quality improvement activities incorporating quality outcome indicators.
•    Develop and update medical care protocols and procedures.
•    Provide formal orientation and contribute to annual assessments for all providers with clinical services at the Health Center.
•    Provide oversight of activities incorporating behavioral health clinician and community health workers.
•    Oversee patient centered medical home activities, including Patient advisory group.
•    With the Medical Director and Clinic Manager, serve as onsite authority in ongoing clinical operations and operation direction, including: 
      1.    Information system and EHR planning.
      2.    Provider staff and resource allocation; provider support or advocation                   and assignment of provider training in service to quality care,                                    documentation and/or coding accuracy.
      3.    Clinical staffing plans. Advocating for clinical staff and operational                          needs                                                                                                                            4.    Mediating professional disagreements                                                                    5.    Risk management                                                                                                        6.    Representing departmental and central operations in communications,                   change management, and policy consistency. 

Essential job responsibilities: 
•    Participate in pre-visit planning, including team huddles.
•    Ensure accuracy of the recording of patient history and associated charting.
•    Provide diagnostic and treatment services to patients and postoperative patients.
•    Perform minor procedures as needed.
•    Prescribe medications, treatments, and immunizations in accordance with practice guidelines and office policies and procedures.
•    Formulate and update patient care plans; consult with team members as needed.
•    Order appropriate imaging and lab as clinically indicated.
•    Perform patient education duties.
•    Communicate effectively with patients both by phone and through patient portal, or direct support staff to do so; document action taken in patient chart.
•    Communicate prescription requests to pharmacy, document action in patient chart.
•    Address emergency situations as they arise; maintain timely flow of patients.
•    Conduct educational seminars for patients, employers and others.
•    Maintain detailed knowledge of EMR and other computer software as it relates to job functions.
•    Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.

Required Qualifications
Before their first day of employment, candidate must have:
1.    M.D. or D.O. degree.
2.    Completed Family Medicine Residency.
3.    Board Certification in Family Medicine (or Board Eligible with scheduled Certification)
4.    Ohio Medical License.
5.    DEA License.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a family physician in a primary care ambulatory setting, working with both a managed care and Medicare population, and experience leadership and/or administrative roles. Experience with Patient-Centered Medical Home, Quality Improvement and team-based care strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will have displayed interest in academia, with peer-reviewed publications and/or research participation, and a demonstrate a passion for care of the underserved and a strong desire to impact the health inequities present in our community. Candidates must have strong organizational skills.
