RNN has an opening for a “hands on” Broadcast Systems Associate located in our Cherry Hill, NJ location. The Broadcast Systems Associate candidate will be involved in the installation, troubleshooting, and support of the infrastructure and systems within the broadcast facility. The ideal candidate must have a passion for broadcast engineering/IT and the is current in media technologies, concepts, and emerging trends.   This is a junior level position designed to advance the candidate in broadcast engineering. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Execute, and complete projects as directed by management
  • Installation, configuration, and daily maintenance/troubleshooting of broadcast systems
  • Decommission legacy equipment, including removing old wiring and updating documentation
  • Participate in regular engineering meetings with the ability to provide updates on projects
  • Support staff and users across all RNN facilities
  • Operate and maintain master control automation systems as the role requires the candidate to fill-in as needed
  • Help support and maintain good working relationships with all other departments
  • All other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with PCs, laptops, servers, and networking equipment is desired
  • Experience with IP based media workflow is desired
  • Some knowledge of FCC Broadcast rules and regulations is a plus
  • Knowledge of video and audio equipment, signal flows and software preferred
  • Demonstrable experience with EAS and related equipment a strong plus
  • Ability to be flexible, focused and organized required
  • Have excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communications skills.
  • Be a self-starter and able to learn quickly, in a fast-paced environment, working independently and as a part of a diverse team
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Willingness to learn and adopt emerging broadcast industry concepts/technologies. 

Education/Experience Qualifications: 

  • High School Graduate or GED Required 
  • Technical degree or certification from a reputable college or technical training program desired
  • 1 year hands-on experience in Broadcast or Technical Environment preferred

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  

The RNN Cherry Hill facility is a 24/7 operation, and the candidate may be required to work non-traditional shifts, weekends/holidays, and be willing to be on call and/or work extra hours as needed. The candidate should be able to lift and carry equipment as necessary.
