What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at WS Barricade?
Dispatchers are responsible for always making an excellent first impression for all callers. As a dispatcher, you will receive all incoming calls for flagger and traffic control dispatch, which you will record traffic requests while coordinating with field operations to ensure the right crew is sent to the right call.
Responsibilities
- Timely dispatch customer requests for traffic control personnel
- Communicate with customers to determine the appropriate traffic set up for their projects
- Communicate with field supervisor on upcoming projects / jobs
- Communicate with customers daily for new traffic requests
- Responsible for entry of new orders into various traffic software
- Greet visitors, prospective employees and customers with a friendly warm approach
- Review daily tickets
- Other duties as requested or assigned
Education, Skills, Experience Needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Typing of 50 WPM
- At least 2 years in a fast paced, busy office as a receptionist
- Previous dispatch and CAD / TCP plan reading experience is encouraged
- Excellent team working and communication skills
- Tech savvy in order to learn new software quickly; MS Office required
Working Environment
- Work is performed in a typical indoor office environment
- Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
- Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
