WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Water Resource Engineer for our Detroit , MI office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct a technical work load appropriate to surface water drainage, water and/or wastewater design
• Perform engineering design services
• Collaborate with clients on specific projects
• Prepare technical reports for projects
• Prepare project proposals, manage project budgets and fulfill administrative and training requirements
• Work with a team and be self-motivated to handle multiple projects and tasks with time constraints
• Exhibit personal initiative, dependability and punctuality

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor or Masters degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Resource Engineering
• 0 to 2 years professional experience in stormwater design, drainage, hydrogeologic assessment, water main design and sanitary sewer design
• Registered as engineer in training in MI, or the ability to do so within 6 months.
• Working understanding of water resources
• Strong verbal and technical writing skills
• Involvement in professional and/or client-based associations
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
