WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Vice President, Civil Engineer to join us in our Lincoln, Nebraska office.
WSP continues to grow our Nebraska market and you will work with both the local and regional offices to continue this exciting trend. The local and regional group is a dynamic and energetic group with strong work ethics and a great culture of collaboration and camaraderie. You would be joining one of the largest and best transportation design forms in the nation. Projects are diverse in nature, interesting, and challenging.
As an Assistant Vice President, you will be responsible for transportation projects across the State of Nebraska both in urban and rural settings. Your responsibilities will include the management of task leaders, schedules, budgets, and client expectations across diverse projects including expansion of Nebraska's expressway system and urban reconstruction. You will participate in the formulation and presentation of technical concepts in proposal development, during the design phase, and for client presentations. Additionally, you will be engaged in the growth and development of our team by providing mentorship, technical guidance, and participation in the hiring and evaluation of junior staff. As a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to take control of your own career path. - Responsible for staffing civil projects and keeping civil staff utilized.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil/transportation engineering.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited civil engineering program.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Nebraksa or ability to obtain within three months.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to lead and guide civil engineering staff.
- Successful project management experience.
- An excellent communicator and team leader.
- Nebraksa DOT, City of Lincoln, and other Local Municipality Experience
- Familiarity with AASHTO and Nebraska State DOT Criteria and Standards.
- Understanding and knowledge of MicroStation, Geopak and OpenRoads Software.
- Ability to provide value in marketing and business development activities.
- Strong background in developing preliminary and final engineering deliverables.
- Ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and criteria using sound judgment.
- Experience in alternative delivery projects is a plus
