This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career GIS Specialist for our Kennesaw, GA office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- Map production to support a vast array of project types including:
-Wetlands
-Threatened and Endangered Species
-Brownfield redevelopment
-Soil and groundwater monitoring and remediation
-Municipal and Federal Government
-Hydrology
-Geospatial Analysis
-Data creation, collection, and conversion - Performs standard or routine calculations and map production
- Under supervision, evaluate or analyze data following standard methods or specific instructions
- Recognizes and identifies discrepancies or errors
- Understanding and elevating quality of work products
- Creating and maintaining organized data management structures
- Prepare portions of technical reports
- Understands and applies safety requirements
- Ensure that the Firm’s administrative and financial policies and procedures are followed
- Other duties as assigned
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in GIS or Geography, Environmental Science, or related field with GIS certificate.
- 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
- Experience in the ESRI Suite of software.
- A strong understanding of coordinate systems and projections.
- A strong understanding of Information Technology concepts.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish effective internal and external working relationships.
- Ability to communicate clearly regarding work assignments.
- Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
Physical Job Requirements:
- Ability to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work long hours at the computer.
