Power BI Analyst

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Power BI Analyst for our Ephrata, Pennsylvania office.  We can also consider the following locations: remote work. Your Impact

• Creates business analytics reports/dashboards by synthesizing information from multiple sources of data for business decisions and strategic planning. Manages consolidation of complex data into meaningful information systems. 
• Review, update, and investigate pertinent data from service providers to ensure a high level of quality, accuracy, and timeliness. 
• Queries multiple data sources using SQL, develops ETLs, and produces reports such as SSRS and visualization tools: Power BI, Tableau, etc.
• Prepare requirements that leads the development of business rules to guide data system design, data collection, and data analysis. 
• Maintains documentation and updates reports as data system enhancements are put into place and/or business rules evolve.
• Perform database queries, data transfer extracts, and custom reports as requested. Prep incoming data for higher-level analysis develop queries, processes, and reports for presentation through Business Portal and SharePoint Server.
• Participates in requirements analysis and verification sessions.
• Works with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes to data systems. Develop systems test plan components and test scripts.
• Performs detailed quality control checks on significant and diverse data sets related to programs.
• Acts in a collaborative function for research design, data collection, interpretation, and presentation.
• Works with key stakeholders to identify reporting needs, defines the reporting requirements, designs the report, and writes the code required to deliver the report. 
• Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
   

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related technical fields.
• Minimum of five (5) years overall experience, primarily related to BI Analyst, Data Warehouse, Data Analysis.
• Extensive experience of current computing technologies and software applications such as specialized Business Intelligence software, SQL query language, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Access, SharePoint, and other database applications. Power BI, Tableau, and SQL Reporting Services expertise preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of current principles, practices, and techniques of systems Analysis, Business Analysis, and Business Intelligence.
• Proactively integrate new technologies for more advanced analytics including and not limited to Power Flow, PowerApps, AI and Machine Learning. 
• Provide Power BI desktop & cloud platform, gateways & administration support, and expertise.
• Provide good DAX, data modeling and basic M (Power Query Editor) capability.
• Produce and enhance reports & dashboards.
• Skilled in using development tools: Power BI Desktop, SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States, or be able to obtain work authorized status in the United States prior to the start of employment. This role is eligible for employment visa sponsorship for eligible and qualified candidates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Assist in the development, implementation, and testing of applications software
• Assist in the analysis of project proposals; identify potential problem areas, and recommend optimum approaches for project path, utilizing specific area of technical expertise
• Identify, prioritize, resolve, document, and communicate technical and operational issues related to internal software applications
• Work collaboratively with individuals across the organization to troubleshoot and resolve both 3rd party and custom developed application incidents
• Maintain high client satisfaction through successful and timely resolution of technical and operational incidents
• Demonstrate a willingness to engage with end users in a highly professional and helpful manner
• Estimate issue resolution times through both independent analysis as well as collaboration with other team members
• Improve the overall quality and completeness of application documentation and support procedures
• Clearly document all incidents and the steps taken to resolve the incidents

Expected Salary: $69,600 - $139,300
