This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full Time Structural Buildings Engineer-in-Training, with the potential to work out of any of our Federal Programs offices around the US, which include Federal Way, WA; New York City, NY;  Virginia Beach, VA;  Denver, CO; San Diego, CA and Seattle, WA. Be involved in projects with our Structural Buildings Team in the Federal Programs Group and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Our Federal Programs Group comprises of highly motivated engineers architects and interior designers with a variety of technical backgrounds working in several key locations across the US and internationally. Major clients are U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Postal Service, and U.S. National Park Service. Our strength is derived from the diversity of our federal work and our staff.
 

Your Impact

  • Perform structural design and assessment of buildings under supervision of senior structural engineers
  • Prepare technical written communications in the form of memoranda and reports under supervision of senior structural engineers
  • Support managers in the creation of plans and specifications in accordance with client requirements  
  • Work in a team to make sure that work product meets scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
  • Prepare drawings in REVIT and perform design calculations in support of broader engineering activities
  • Willingness to learn structural software (i.e., STAAD, Risa3D, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, MathCAD, TEDDS, EnerCalc)
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline 
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience in structural or Structural design experience.
  • EIT with plan for progressive experience towards gaining the PE in 3-4 years time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering with emphasis in structures.
  • Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline
  • A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations
  • Ability to obtain a US Government issued Secret level Security Clearance

 

Compensation and Benefits:
WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.  Expected Salary: $53,200-$93,000
