This Opportunity
WSP currently has a Construction Project Manager career opportunity to support our Program/Construction Management (PM/CM) Practice. This full-time position can be located anywhere in the United States.
The full-time Construction Project Manager will work closely with PM/CM resources to execute projects primarily focused on environmental, sustainable, and remediation efforts. This position requires familiarity with various delivery models, such as engineering-procurement-construction-management (EPCM), engineering-procurement-construction (EPC), design-build, and design-bid-build.

Your Impact
- Leading construction management efforts when WSP is an owner’s agent, or during at-risk construction projects where WSP is responsible for executing the work.
- Achieving safety, quality, financial, and schedule targets.
- Leading projects through the entire lifecycle, including pre-proposal/pursuit, design (if applicable), procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations.
- Planning all construction activities, which will require coordinating with contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and third-party entities such as inspection and testing agencies or local utility providers.
- Working with safety personnel to develop site-specific health and safety plans.
- Working with quality personnel to develop QA/QC plans.
- Developing and maintaining a project-specific risk register and proactively managing issues from kick-off through closeout.
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules.
- Tracking project expenditures and accurately forecasting estimated costs at completion.
- Reviewing and approving contractor/subcontractor payment applications.
- Working with procurement and contracting personnel to negotiate contract terms.
- Internal project reporting.
- Working closely with clients to build trusting relationships by demonstrating commitment to delivering projects successfully.
- Compliance with full project documentation storage requirements.
Who You Are
- 7 – 10 years of relevant construction project management experience – as an owner or owner’s agent preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering, or related degree, or equivalent experience in a construction-related position.
- Experience assembling and managing construction teams to complete contract requirements, while ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals are achieved.
- Experience with construction plans and specifications and relating that to project scope, schedule, and cost.
- Experience being responsible for project financial performance and tracking and reporting on expenditures as well as forecasting estimated costs to complete.
- Commitment to safety. OSHA 30-hour training preferred.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
- Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and end-users.
- Certifications preferred (PE, PMP, CCM, etc.).
- Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
