This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Operations Manager for our client’s Utica, NY office.
The TMC Shift Supervisor/System Operator III is a senior level position responsible for coordinating traffic and incident management functions. Work is performed under moderate to light supervision. Performance of routine traffic management tasks are inherent to this position and applicants must have the ability to perform all functions applicable to a TMC System Operator I and TMC System Operator II. The TMC Shift Manager is responsible for ensuring shift co-workers are kept up-to date and implements new procedures. Responsible for ensuring that proper contacts are made and protocols are followed during major incident events.
Your Impact
- Assists NYSDOT Project Manager
- Available all times during off-duty hours to provide assistance to Operations personnel
- Responsible for ensuring shift co-workers are adequately trained and current in all tasks relevant to their position;
- Serves as the shift liaison to management for identifying problems and/or weaknesses in operational procedures;
- Independently prepares and maintains training documents and reports;
- Support TMC operations during higher-level incidents, emergencies, snow, storms, and other significant events; gather and report incident management, traffic conditions, and transportation network status to NYSDOT staff
- Responsible for shift continuity, assessments, briefings between shifts, and overall system performance;
- Administers On-The-Job (OJT) training to new and existing staff as needed;
- Attend Management meetings and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
- Maintain scheduling and PTO requests amongst team members.
- Policy and directives, record keeping
- Develop innovative ideas to improve processes and efficiencies of the workflow.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required
- A minimum of 7 years experience in a TMC type of facility and/or traffic incident management role with increasing responsibilities
- Proficient with various computer/software systems - including MS Office, GIS and web-based information systems
- Must have an aptitude for providing exceptional customer service
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Applicants must be able to pass a background/criminal history check
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Compensation and Benefits:
WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
Expected Salary: $49,200 - $92,100
WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
