Nature of Work

The person in this position will analyze customer requests to design, develop, test, implement and maintain complex computer programs and/or systems. They will design, develop, modify, test, and implement highly complex computer programs and systems in multiple environments (ex. MaaS/Mainframe, Unix, Linux, Cloud platforms).

Responsibilities also include:

  • Creating, modifying, testing, and running various processes.
  • Reviewing, approving and/or migrating/deploying program modules from development and test environments to production environments.
  • Creating reports requested by the Legislature, the Departments of Health, Health Facilities, and Human Services and other authorized users.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field including but not limited to business data programming, business systems analysis, computer accounting, computer and information systems, computer servicing technologies, information systems management, data processing, or computer engineering.
OR
An Associate's degree from an accredited college, university or business school in computer science or related field including but not limited to business data programming, business systems analysis, computer accounting, computer and information systems, computer servicing technologies, information systems management, data processing, or computer engineering and eighteen months of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or data base languages.

Substitution: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid computer programming experience in one or more programming or database languages may substitute for the required training.

Experience with the following is preferred:

SQL (ex. DB2, Oracle, mySQL), scripting language (ex. Javascript, Google Apps script, PHP) and FTP/SFTP protocol), Cognos, Natural, SAS, Visual Studio, Android Studio, Python, Java, CSS, HTML, Cobol, CICS, and AFP.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,457.00 - $74,845.00 per year
