JOB SUMMARY The Clerk-Typist plays a critical role in the delivery of quality health care to Imaging Services patients by accurately and efficiently organizing and maintaining all Imaging Services patient records.# They also play a critical role in the Thomas Memorial Hospital mission in their role of providing quality reception and phone service to patients, physicians, and the Thomas Memorial Hospital community. EDUCATION High school graduate or equivalent LICENSURE N/A EXPERIENCE Prefer candidate to have previous reception, filing, and telephone experience.# Medical terminology would be helpful. Medical Imaging experience would be of benefit. Any previous computer experience would be of benefit. CERTIFICATION N/A COMPUTER/TYPING/MATH SKILLS Must have typing skills of at least 25 words per minute. Previous basic computer experience would be helpful. Basic Typing/keyboarding skills (25 wpm minimum) are required.# Prefer individual with previous experience using Hospital and Radiology Information systems, however, will train individual for the hospital and imaging computers. JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Must be able to communicate verbally with all hospital contacts in a professional and courteous manner. Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.# Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists.
