What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician - Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist position at WVU Medicine?
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a Maternal Fetal Medicine physician (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV and will also provide remote services in Pennsylvania.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of maternal fetal medicine. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Leadership opportunities may be available.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed an ACGME accredited obstetric and gynecology residency program, as well as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in MFM by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
You'll join a dedicated team making an extraordinary difference in the lives of mothers and children not only within the state, but across a region that includes three neighboring states. There is an outreach obstetrical program supporting over 20 hospitals in the region, an active maternal transport and a MFM consulting service that performs its own ultrasound. There is also an accredited Cytogenetics Laboratory within the department of Pathology for onsite prenatal diagnosis.
