What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President of Tax position at WWE?
WWE is seeking a Vice President of Tax with the experience and vision to build and lead a strong in-house tax team. We are looking for a leader who can successfully own WWE’s tax strategy, planning and compliance, transitioning the function in house from a fully outsourced model. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented and organized, with good business judgment and strong communication & leadership skills. The Vice President of Tax reports to the SVP, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer.
Vice President of Tax Responsibilities:
- Drive and implement best practices in the global tax function to support WWE’s continued growth and expansion
- Build an in-house corporate tax team and lead an organized transition from the current outsourced model.
- Develop and retain the in-house team to develop strong processes and controls.
- Continue to develop and implement the organization’s tax strategy and policy, and to direct the overall planning and compliance function for federal, state, local, and international tax laws.
- Oversee the quarterly and year-end tax provision and related tax accounts.
- Provide due diligence and structural advice on a variety of transactions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and SEC requirements by studying regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions and communicating with outside advisors to ensure timely tax and SEC reporting requirements.
- Oversee transfer pricing studies for cross-border transactions.
- Oversee cash tax forecasts for corporate budgeting and forecasting.
- Oversee the federal/state/international income/franchise and non-income tax audits.
- Manage and conduct tax research from sources such as the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations, reputable tax research organizations and/or external counsel.
Requirements For Role:
- Minimum 15 years of U.S. federal, state and international corporate tax experience, either in-house with publicly traded U.S. multinational corporation(s) or in public accounting, preferably Big Four, or a combination.
- Thorough knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and the ability to manage multiple large, time sensitive projects.
- Strong knowledge of current tax rules, U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
- Broad understanding of U.S. corporate tax law with ability to develop tax strategy globally.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a broad range of tax matters arising in diverse jurisdictions.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills including confidence in making presentations to senior management, executive leadership, and audit committee.
- Strong tax controversy experience is important in this role.
- Demonstrated ability to meet stringent deadlines and work under stressful situations.
- Bachelor’s degree in tax or equivalent; CPA, Masters in tax or J.D. in tax desired.
