Compensation:

 $16.00 / an hour  

Museum Porter Essential Functions:

• Clean store-front windows and doors.
• Refill hand sanitizer stations; sweep and mop interior floors.
• Remove debris from exterior floors, including leaves, water, and trash.
• Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of trash by placing it into designated containers; replace it with a fresh bag immediately.
• Clean restrooms throughout the day and restock supplies such as toilet paper, towels, and soap.
• Proactive in seeking out areas that need to be cleaned.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of the museum to provide directions to visitors and answer basic inquiries (location of restrooms, kiosks, restaurants, Wi-Fi, etc.)
• Greet all visitors with a smile, an inviting attitude, and the highest level of customer service.
• Attend all required meetings and report all unsafe conditions immediately.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including cross-training.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a porter, janitor or custodian preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organized in the storing of supplies.
• Flexibility in working hours, as some evening and weekend work is required.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. or more.
