Social Research Student Internship
The Social Research Student Intern will provide support to help strengthen and develop the WBC's understanding of barriers affecting economic growth in Wyoming. Through applied social and behavioral research, you will help to evaluate existing barriers, systems, mindsets, and resources to help the WBC and its partners design sustainable solutions. You will work closely with organizational leaders and partners to design problem statements, propose research methodologies, and evaluate solutions. In this role, you will experiment, collaborate, and gain hands-on qualitative and quantitative research experience in the statewide community.
Why The Wyoming Business Council?
The WBC creates new opportunities for current and future generations of Wyomingites. Our purpose is as ambitious as it is actionable. Led by a team of nearly 40 expert advisers and creators, the WBC is helping businesses, communities, and local leaders create their future.
How will you grow?
You will be provided a mentor that will be dedicated to integrating your academic goals with WBC’s organizational needs so that you gain valuable, unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences that will complement your future career. The WBC is a small organization, and its size creates a rich environment for one to participate in many fields of economic development with many different audiences. As an intern with the Wyoming Business Council, not only will you support the team, but you will also bring an additional voice and perspective to Wyoming’s economic future.
All internships are paid, year-round positions (May 2024 - May 2025). Hours are expected to be no more than 40 hours per week during the summer months and will scale back during the school year to no more than 15 hours per week. In the interest of building strong relationships, and developing a cohesive understanding of WBC's efforts, interns are expected to work in the Cheyenne office during the summer months. Remote work during the academic school year may be an option based on demonstrated performance. Interns working remotely should be prepared to work from home with a suitable internet connection.
