Schedule
Approximately 8:45am - 3:30m, M-F (32.5 hours per week) per school calendar.
In This Role
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience Working With Children Preferred.
Function effectively as a member of an instructional team.
Mature judgment, emotional stability and empathetic attitude in dealing with students with disabilities.
Can command the respect of students as an adult authority figure.
Has ability to adapt to differences and changes in pupil characteristics, program characteristics, leadership characteristics and colleague characteristics.
This position is represented by the Wyoming Education Support Staff Association (WESSA) and is covered by our Collective Bargaining Agreement using the appropriate position step schedule.
Note: Pursuant to PA 131, the selected candidate must receive clearance, from the Michigan State Police Department, prior to the offer of employment. The candidate is responsible for the background check fee.

Schedule

In This Role
- At the request of the teacher, tutor small groups and/or assist in the motivation and discipline of the classroom.
- Interact effectively with other professional staff members.
- Develop an understanding of the students and their special needs.
- Work successfully with the students in the academic setting.
- Provide health care needs as required by the students.
- Assist with individual students who are functioning inappropriately and need de-escalating.
- Have knowledge of and ability to support student needs using C.P.I. (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) strategies.
- Others as noted in the job description.
