Controls Technician

Function/Duties:

Install, maintain and repair electrical control systems for the facilities organization. Interface with multiple disciplines to accomplish defined tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain existing control systems:
  • Allen Bradley PLC systems
  • Honeywell Building System, TEMA Servers
  • GE PLC systems
  • Square D plc systems
  • Scada System Design and Development
  • Interface and work with Engineering, Safety, and maintenance staff on controls problems
  • Learn area critical control systems
  • Assist requested maintenance and equipment maintenance as needed

Current Skills/Competencies:

  • Knowledge of basic control diagrams
  • Knowledge of control devices and instrumentation:
  • Sensors
  • Transducers
  • Field Wiring
  • Knowledge and experience on the design, programming and installation of PLCs
  • Knowledge and experience on the design, programming and installation of VFDs
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a proven team player and self-starter
  • Good problem solving and decision making skills

Education/Skills Background: A.S. Degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology or Licensed Electrician with similar controls experience.
