We operate 9 lodging facilities with over 2,000 guest rooms across 6 locations throughout Yellowstone. Guest accommodations include cabins and hotel rooms ranging from rustic to modern. We’re hiring Assistant Housekeeping Managers to Live. Work. Explore. this summer in iconic Yellowstone National Park!

 

Job Summary:
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for assisting the Housekeeping Manager with housekeeping operations. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will lead training initiatives to achieve the highest levels of guest satisfaction, quality service and compliance with Xanterra policies and procedures.

 

The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: Immediate start through October end date
Pay: $1,600-$1,800 biweekly
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties towards the goal of maximizing guest service while meeting or exceeding financial goals.
  • Create and sustain a positive work environment; promote a sense of pride and teamwork with the staff.
  • Provide clean guest rooms and grounds to the standard as trained.
  • Assume the Housekeeping Manager’s daily duties in their absence.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in coaching and evaluating the entire housekeeping staff.
  • Supervision of staff through inspections and working with staff.
  • Help to train and monitor the Office Assistant’s duties.
  • Train and supervise Porters and Linen Truck Drivers with daily rounds, follow-up to ensure accuracy and following safety procedures. Have regular porter and truck driver meetings to enforce procedures.
  • Enforce and comply with all Housekeeping standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide required information and ready-room status to Front Desk as early as possible throughout the day. Provide accurate room status information to staff.
  • Provide weekly work schedule if required by the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Determine specific work assignments for Room Attendants and Room Inspectors according to the staffing guide and occupancy levels.
  • Monitor daily progress of work assignments.
  • Provide quality control of rooms through inspections.
  • Ensure all Housekeeping employees are following uniform and other standards.
  • Ensure all Housekeeping employees are complying with the correct use of chemicals and equipment as trained.
  • Assist in the Training of new employees, especially during the spring opening phase. This will include Room Attendants, Inspectors, Porters, Linen Truck Drivers, and Office Assistants.
  • Ensure all paperwork is in personnel files (such as safety checklists, challenges, and drivers license copies).
  • Ensure that personnel Profile sheets are updated, in conjunction with the Office Assistant.
  • Follow-up training and monitoring accuracy of information from the location RA Trainers.
  • Ensure that all safety procedures are being followed and weekly meetings are being held. Participate in location Safety Lead meetings.
  • Ensure that adequate supplies (cleaning, guest, and office) are available through proper ordering and planning by using the Supply Management System.
  • Ensure offices, linen rooms, and supply rooms are clean and organized.
  • Ensure daily linen inventories are accurate.
  • Ensure the cleaning and maintenance of all vacuums, floor machines, and other equipment.
  • Assist other departments as needed, including six-day work weeks during times of staffing needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 1 year prior housekeeping experience or a related field
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Housekeeping operations
  • General office skills, including phone etiquette and basic accounting skills.
  • Effective business communication skills.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds as needed throughout the day.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of supplies and linens sporadically throughout the day.
  • Making beds, bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching as needed.
  • Standing for long periods of time, frequent walking up and down stairs, as well as in outdoor areas sporadically throughout the day.
  • Pushing a hotel or cabin cart between 50-75 pounds as needed and linen bins that can be up to several hundred pounds.
  • Working with required chemicals.
