Advanced Step Apprentice or Above/ Journeyman Lineman - Dodge Center or Faribault, MN

We anticipate the need for one or more Advanced Step Apprentice/Journeyman Lineman to join our Xcel Energy Team located at the Faribault or Dodge
Center Service Center in Faribault or Dodge Center, Minnesota. The base rate of pay for Journeyman Lineman is $58.55 hourly according to the "Exhibit A" wage scale. An Advanced Step Apprentice will be coming in at 80% of the Journeyman rate of pay at 5th Step, 85% at 6th Step, 90% at 7th Step, or 95% at a 8th Step.

This position will be posted for 10 Working Days from May 13, 2024 to May 27, 2024.

Summary

As a Journeyman Lineman, you will perform all duties of the Journeyman Lineman classification involving overhead and underground electric distribution and transmission systems. The individual filling this position must be self-motivated, work well with others and possess a positive attitude and commitment to work safely, provide quality customer service, create customer satisfaction and to work productively.

Required

Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma or GED and meet the following criteria:

1. Must possess a degree/diploma from an accepted Line School or a state issued Journeyman certificate for an
Advanced step position.
2. Must possess a state issued Journeyman certificate and pass a company skills assessment for a Journeyman
position.
3. Must meet driver qualification requirements, including the possession of a valid Commercial Class A Drivers
License.
4. Must be physically capable of performing all aspects of electric overhead and underground distribution
construction, operations, and maintenance work.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Ability to successfully work with customers on a wide range of concerns.
7. Must be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.
8. Demonstrated commitment to work safely and productively.

Special Requirements:

1. Requires participation in after-hours emergency call-outs.

2. Must live within 20 miles of the service center.

3. This position is subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing program.

Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $44.44 to $58.55 per hour
