Job Overview: 
The Entry Level Accountant will learn to perform complex clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments and prepare accounting statements and financial reports.

Essential Duties:
  • Assists in preparing financial reports and various accounting statements.
  • Help post journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Generates summary sheets to be used by supervisor or auditor.
  • Processes payroll and prepare necessary payroll reports.
  • Proofs accounting reports for clerical accuracy.
  • Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with some bookkeeping coursework.
  • Three to five years of related experience is required.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a professional manner. 
  • Ability to manage varied workloads in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills:
  • Excellent relational skills. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Strong working knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. To is evidenced by the following:
    • Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    • Oral Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
    • Speech Clarity - The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
    • Speech Recognition - The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.
    • Written Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.  Written work product requires little if any grammar and /or spelling corrections.
  • Diplomacy.  The ability to maintain a pleasant manner, tact, and diplomacy in challenging circumstances.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to be productive and efficient under varying volumes of workload and rapidly shifting priorities.
