Summary
Xentria is a patient-centric biotech company focused on novel biologics and biosimilars. Our first program is XT MAB 16, a monoclonal antibody for sarcoidosis. XT MAB 16 has received Orphan Drug Designation and is currently in a Phase 1 study.
The Vice President, Finance will serve as the organization’s senior financial executive and a critical member of the senior management team. They will be responsible for the complete span of finance, capital management, strategic planning, treasury, tax, risk management and information technology as well as lead the month end close process, accounts receivable (including gross to net adjustments) and will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information to the business leaders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as a financial and business partner to the President and other members of the senior management team.
- Contributes actively to the evolution and execution of the organization's strategic and operational plans, maximizing opportunities to accelerate revenue growth while controlling profitability.
- Builds and manages the financial and information technology functions including, but is not limited to, financial reporting, strategic planning, cash and working capital management.
- Manages and monitors the organization’s cash flow and works with President and other members of the senior management team to address capital needs.
- Prepares and presents business plans and operating results to the Board of Directors.
- Actively participates in licensing agreements, including due diligence and revenue modeling
- Develops, implements and ensures GAAP compliance with financial and accounting policies, procedures and related systems and internal controls.
- Develops long-term, trusted relationships and credibility with key external partners including external auditors, banking relationships and other advisors.
- Responsible for establishing, overseeing and maintaining annual audit process
- Partners with Legal to identify and manage business risks and insurance requirements.
- Responsible for the overall month end close process including revenue, inventory, fixed assets, prepaids and supply chain accounting, reconciliation and analysis.
- Responsible for calculating monthly accruals/reserves including; chargebacks, prompt pay discounts and inventory reserves.
- Works collectively with team in identifying new process and system improvement opportunities and identifies, resolves or escalates repetitive or complex discrepancies.
- Works with project/program leads to establish monthly budget to actual reconciliation and accruals
- Oversees corporate accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Reviews results on a monthly basis and provides variance analysis.
- Develops/maintains accounting policies, procedures and tools/templates to comply with U.S. GAAP.
- Prepares and maintains accounting documentation, including technical accounting research on complex accounting issues and documents the position papers.
- Develops, implements and reviews documentation for internal control compliance and testing.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages all employees of the Finance department, including IT, and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Education and/or Experience
Required:
• MBA in Finance, accounting or related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC financial reporting, and management reporting and analysis.
Highly Preferred:
• Other additional relevant advanced degree(s) and/or certification(s), such as CPA.
• Previously held Finance roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
Travel
Up to 25% domestic and/or international travel expected with routine travel to Chicago office.
Computer Skills
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Technical software skills and experience: Experience establishing financial systems and infrastructure to enable scale. This includes ERP systems, Business Intelligence Tools, and experience optimizing data analytics to enact business decisions.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
