Xerox is hiring a Payroll Manager in North York! The Payroll Manager will work within a team of 3 to accomplish the daily responsibilities provided below.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing including payroll taxes and impact on benefits and HR policies
- Monitor laws and apply regulation knowledge to the company’s taxes and withholding procedures; prepare and review payroll and tax reconciliations
- Provide client support, timely response to client questions, payroll taxes, and aid business units and management decision-making
- Provide detailed information and reports to Canada Revenue Agency ("CRA"), Revenue Quebec, other government agencies, and service providers in accordance with CRA statutes, and relevant legislation and regulations
- Communicate with internal departments and external stakeholders (CRA, Revenue QC, ML, E&Y, Sun Life, Workers Compensation, etc.)
- Review and approve payroll account journal entries; validate and approve month-end closing
- Process Dividend payments and RSU taxable benefits; prepare ITD and journal entries on Dividends and RSU’s
- Analyze and recommend changes to payroll processes and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate and participate in all standard year-end activities; incluT4s (but not limited to), balancing and reconciling year-end tax forms (T4s, T4A’s, and RL-1) with payroll registers, as well as Revenue Quebec and Revenue Canada annual filing.
- Produce annual payroll calendar
- Prepare and remit employer annual and quarterly health taxes; prepare and remit monthly Workers Compensation Board premiums.
Requirements:
- A post-secondary degree in a related discipline such as Accounting, Human Resources, Business, or another related field
- 5 years of progressive payroll experience and responsibility managing a payroll system, working with unionized and non-unionized payrolls
- Payroll Practitioner designation with the National Payroll Institute (formerly the Canadian Payroll Association) preferred
- Experience in use of query-based reporting tools with a solid understanding of general accounting administration functions is required
- Demonstrated intermediate-level Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective business relationships
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines.
- Uphold the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and exercise good judgment
- Previous experience with Oracle and ADP GlobalView will be considered an asset
