We are looking for a Team Lead to be part of the Quality Inspection group to support a wide range of medical device inspections. The majority of activities will include managing a team of inspectors to ensure inspections are happening according to standards. This will entail assisting in onboarding inspectors, training inspectors, and monitoring performance.

This is a one (1) year contract that will be on-site in Irvine, CA. The hours are a second shift of 2:15pm-10:45pm. There is a possible conversion to full-time at a later date in 2023.

Duties/Responsibilities

· Review technical documentation. Compare specifications and drawings with physical product.

· Assist in recruiting and onboarding inspectors.

· Responsible for training inspectors and ensuring inspectors adhere to requirements.

· Utilize manufacturing and quality software (e.g. JDE).

· Knowledgeable in production processes.

· Ability to guide other workers/colleagues in understanding operations and quality standards.

· Take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment.

· Proven ability to complete, retain, and incorporate training coursework in the performance of new and advanced work procedures.

· Strict attention to detail in regards to work orders, scheduling, and documentation.

· Must be able to work in a team environment and with minimum supervision by following detailed quality instructions.

· Schedule work order sequencing to ensure plan is met, including maintaining team performance metrics.

· Mediate technical documentation issues directly with engineering staff.

· Escalate quality and staff issues to supervisor.

· May lead and/or participate in procedural compliance audits.

· Build complex prototypes, sub-assemblies, and prepare feasibility test units, samples, and/or chemical solutions.

· Perform operational test and identify failure modes on systems and equipment; may propose technical solutions.

· Perform more complex work using drawings, diagrams, written and verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions.

· Collect and document test data.

· Order and maintain lab supplies and equipment.

· Operate a wider range of lab equipment including set-up, clean-up, break-down, and re-assembly.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

· Strong English language skills, including reading, comprehending, speaking and writing.

· Other incidental duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

· Associate's Degree or equivalent OR technical degree/certificate OT Two (2) years previous experience in R&D Lab and/or medical device experience or 4 years related experience, OR H.S. Diploma or equivalent six (6) years directly related experience, including leading assembly/quality work teams additional previous assembly/quality line experience in a related industry.

· Knowledge of and adherence to Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to lab and/or clean room medical device manufacturing. Take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.

· Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, preferably JDE. Perform JDE transactions that include back flush (close operations), terminate components to floor stock, and perform cycle counts.

· Good written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.

· Problem solving methodology, root cause analysis, and GDP (Good Documentation Practices)

· Good computer skills, including usage of MS Office Suite.

· Substantial understanding of equipment in a lab environment.

· Ability to perform more complex troubleshooting.

· Ability to identify problems and relevant issues in straightforward and more complex situations, assessing using standard procedures.

· Ability to use a wider range of manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment; use tools such as measuring equipment.

· Ability to read and understand procedures, drawings, schematics and carry out assembly instructions.

· Strict attention to detail

· Must be able to work with minimum supervision, and with other departments

· Carrying boxes of components or products

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
