Position Overview:
We are seeking a proficient Laser Engineer with expertise in reliability testing, failure analysis, and laser physics to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of semiconductor lasers through meticulous testing, analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The position requires a deep understanding of laser physics principles, hands-on experience in III-V design and validation, and a keen eye for detail in product qualification tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to III-V design projects, ensuring adherence to performance and reliability standards.
- Oversee and execute tapeout processes in collaboration with III-V foundries, managing design iterations for continuous improvement.
- Utilize hands-on experience in testing III-V device performance, optimizing testing protocols for accuracy and efficiency, and collaborate with the team to enhance testing methodologies and equipment for improved results.
- Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and their effects on semiconductor lasers.
- Define and execute reliability tests to evaluate the performance and longevity of semiconductor lasers under various conditions.Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as JMP.
- Generate comprehensive reports documenting reliability test results, failure analysis findings, and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in semiconductor laser technology to continuously improve reliability testing and analysis methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in reliability testing and analysis of commercial semiconductor lasers.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required; Ph.D. preferred.
- Proficiency in Telecordia standards and methodologies is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with industry standards and specifications for semiconductor laser reliability testing.
- Proficiency in FMEA techniques and reliability testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as JMP.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
