XYZ CBD PROCESSING, LLC. is searching for a skilled Short-Path Distillation Processing Technician to join our team. In this role, the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting daily hemp processing and extraction operations.

Hemp Process Technician duties and responsibilities:


The Processing Tech is responsible for the safe and lawful operation of various electrical, mechanical, and computer-operated equipment following strict standard operating procedures, guidelines, and policies. He/she will be required to work individually as well as liaise with other technicians across multiple departments. The Tech will collaborate with the entire management team in the creation and evolution of new standard operating procedures to maximize the efficiency and productivity of the operation.

  • Preparation of equipment and plant materials for extraction
  • Execution of processing functions in accordance company standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Operation of sophisticated processing equipment
  • Ensure consistency and efficiency of product through quality control testing and procedures
  • Cleaning and maintenance of equipment
  • Operating, maintaining, and making adjustments to extraction and processing equipment in accordance with SOPs
  • Storing supplies and disposal of waste according to guidelines
  • Complete the cleaning and sanitization of all production equipment, work surfaces, and tools
  • Maintaining inventory records of supplies, materials, and preparing requisitions as needed
  • Measuring and recording various equipment and production data
  • Perform sampling of raw materials and work in process (WIP) according to SOPs and good laboratory practices (GLP)
  • Staying current on best practices and new developments in the extraction industry including good manufacturing practices (GMP and cGMP)
  • Ability to work individually and as a part of a team
  • Assist in packaging and labeling of finished products

Hemp Processing Technician requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or equivalent with a major in chemistry, biology, engineering or similar preferred
  • Understanding of proper and safe handling of hazardous materials
  • Knowledge of solvent extraction methods
  • Ability to work quickly without compromising accuracy
  • Analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to discern the quality of plant material and finished goods
  • Strong computer and interpersonal skills

Hemp Processing Technician additional requirements:

  • This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise
