What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Director position at Y.A.P.A. Apartment Living Program Inc?
1. Treatment Locations and Hours Covered in this Exhibit
a. This current scope of work exhibit shall apply to medical director services provided by Provider to be offered to PT over programs operated by PT on, or before, the effective date of this agreement in the state of Tennessee.
b. The current number of hours of availability for medical director services provided shall be 12 hours per week.
2. To be Provided by Provider
a. Provider shall provide psychiatric services which shall pertain to the evaluation, consultation and treatment of mental health/behavioral disorders as defined in the current versions of the DSM and the ICD.
c. Provider agrees to attend internal and external meetings to provide ongoing input to the relevant payers and staff of PT in order to continually improve on the quality of care for patients and to maximize efficiency of services being offered.
d. Provider agrees to provide 24 hour on-call services to support the Members and staff during crisis situations.
b. Provider shall serve as medical director for PT in the state of Tennessee.
c. The duties of the medical director shall include, but may not be limited to:
i. Conducting regular reviews of patient charts as required by payer contracts, federal and/or state law, and/or best practices of medicine.
ii. Creating and maintaining policies and procedures for best practices of psychiatry and behavioral medicine.
iii. Aiding in the hiring of medical/nursing support staff.
iv. Conducting internal audits of medical/nursing practices of PT for accreditation and legal purposes.
v. Acting as a liaison for PT in interactions with other physicians and/or healthcare organizations.
vi. Acting as a liaison for PT as needed with medical third-party payers.
vii. Providing the general supervision of medical staff if contracted and/or employed by PT in the state of Tennessee; such as other physicians, medical assistants, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, etc.
viii. Directing the creation and/or implementation of appropriate staff trainings for PT as warranted.
ix. Other duties as deemed necessary by the V.P. of Operations or Executive Clinical Director to maintain the integrity of medical services provided through P.T.
d. The medical director shall work directly with the Executive Clinical Director of P.T. in the fulfillment of this scope of work.Scope of Work
3. To be Provided by PT
a. PT shall provide the medical director access to an appropriate Electronic Health
Record (EHR) system for the documentation of patient care.
b. PT shall provide the medical director access to an electronic prescription system
(E-Scribe) for the fulfillment of medication needs. If an E-Scribe system is not
available, then PT may determine with Provider practical alternatives.
